Property funds at M & G and Aviva join Standard Life and suspend trading (HERE) after investors rush to cash in their holdings. The Bank of England warn that property is a key risk to the economy (HERE). The pound reached a new low against the dollar this afternoon, touching $1.3030 (HERE).
In the middle of all this the Huffington post revealed (HERE) that Andrea Leadsom, during the referendum campaign had said this to Buzzfeed:
“Sterling has really not moved since the prime minister announced the starting gun for the referendum. So my best expectation, with my 30 years of financial experience, is that there will not be an economic impact.”
No economic impact! She can't even say nobody told her. In fact everybody told her it would be a disaster and she herself had said in 2013 it would be a "disaster". It looks like she was only campaigning to leave to further her own career or she learned nothing during her 30 years in the financial sector. She is basically an accountant who can only tell you what went wrong after it goes wrong.
